My paintings are inspired by the photographs I take of the amazing skies in my area of SW Ontario

Acrylic on 12" x 12" wood panel with 1/2" tobacco stick frame

Final piece is 13" x 13"

  • My paintings are framed with tobacco sticks that I purchase from farms in SW Ontario. They are 4' x 1.5" wood sticks, used by tobacco farmers to dry and cure tobacco plants in kilns on the farm. Tobacco plants stain the wood they are placed on, so the pieces can range from dark brown to light. We pressue wash the sticks, sand them and then rub them down with teak oil. The oil helps to protect the wood as well as showing off the grain.
